Environmental Law and Policy Initiative (ELPI) Ghana is a non-governmental organization committed to advancing environmentally sustainable development through law, policy, and public engagement. Rooted in a deep concern for Ghana’s ecological future, ELPI was founded to strengthen the bridge between environmental protection and socio-economic development in ways that are just, inclusive, and forward-looking.

At ELPI, we believe that sound environmental governance is essential to Ghana’s long-term prosperity. Our work focuses on thought leadership, capacity building, and evidence-based policy advocacy to address pressing environmental challenges and shape laws that protect both people and the planet.

We collaborate with stakeholders across sectors—including the judiciary, government agencies, academia, and civil society—to develop practical, home-grown solutions to complex environmental issues. From training youth volunteers and public officials to conducting cutting-edge legal research and hosting national dialogues, ELPI is creating a platform for transformative change.
